Heavy rainfall lashed Tirumala, accompanied by thunder and lightning, causing sudden disruption to pilgrim movement. Devotees heading for darshan and those returning were forced to take shelter under temporary sheds as they were drenched in the downpour.
Low-lying areas were inundated with rainwater, while shopkeepers suffered losses as goods were damaged due to flooding. Heavy rainwater also overflowed onto the steps of the Alipiri walking path, causing severe inconvenience to pilgrims.
Meanwhile, boulders and soil slid onto several stretches of the Tirupati–Tirumala second ghat road, especially at hairpin bends. TTD engineering teams immediately cleared the debris and restored movement. Authorities have advised motorists to remain cautious due to slippery and vulnerable road conditions.
