A leakage in the Devadula pipeline near Pulakurthi village in Damer mandal of Hanumakonda district has caused significant losses to farmers. Due to the leak, hundreds of acres of recently sown agricultural lands have been flooded, leading to soil erosion and crop damage. Farmers, who had invested heavily in sowing seeds, are now expressing deep distress over the situation.
Despite the leakage at the Devadula gate valve continuing since Friday night, officials are alleged to have shown negligence in addressing the issue. Large quantities of water are being wasted while no immediate corrective measures have been taken. Farmers have urged higher authorities to intervene promptly, stop the leakage, and provide adequate compensation for their losses.
