Former minister and BRS Legislature Party Deputy Floor Leader Harish Rao has written an open letter to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, urging the government to postpone the Telangana Public Service Commission’s (TGPSC) Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE–Civil) examination scheduled for November 6. He said the SSC Junior Engineer (JE) examination is also scheduled for the same date, forcing thousands of engineering aspirants from Telangana to choose between the two competitive examinations. He also pointed out that candidates appearing for the SSC JE examination in other states may find it difficult to return to Telangana in time for the AEE test.
Harish Rao alleged that TGPSC had not responded to repeated requests from candidates to reschedule the examinations. He also referred to a letter reportedly sent by Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to TGPSC on October 14, seeking a review of the examination dates. Citing changes made to examination schedules in states such as Odisha and Bihar, Harish Rao urged the government to ensure that candidates have an opportunity to appear for both tests. He stressed that unemployed youth were not asking for the examinations to be cancelled, but for a fair chance to take both. He called on the Chief Minister to intervene immediately and asked the government and TGPSC to take advance measures to prevent similar scheduling conflicts in the future.
