Harish Rao Fires Up Over Telangana Projects.. Key Demand to Government on GRMB

BRS Deputy Floor Leader T. Harish Rao questioned why the Telangana government did not immediately object after Andhra Pradesh proposed the stoppage of seven Telangana projects in the Godavari River Management Board meeting agenda. He criticised the government for writing letters to the Centre only after the BRS raised the issue and questioned its commitment to protecting Telangana’s water interests. Harish Rao demanded that the state insist on removing the disputed issues from the GRMB agenda and make it clear that Telangana would not attend the meeting unless the proposals were withdrawn. He warned that if the GRMB meeting scheduled in Hyderabad on August 18 goes ahead without withdrawing the agenda items concerning Telangana projects, the BRS would organise a large-scale protest at the Jalasoudha office.

Harish Rao also criticised the Congress government over the condition of public healthcare in Telangana. He alleged that government healthcare, which he claimed had earned a strong reputation during the KCR administration, has deteriorated under the present government. Referring to an image of a patient lying on the floor at Warangal MGM Hospital, he accused the government of negligence and said the incident reflected the poor state of public healthcare. He questioned the lack of beds and basic medical facilities for poor patients seeking treatment at government hospitals.
