Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy, speaking informally to the media, said there is a need for Cabinet expansion as the Congress government is nearing three years in office. He said expansion could bring a sense of freshness to the government and help address dissatisfaction among party leaders. He also called for efforts to reduce group rivalries within the party and stressed that discipline is essential for the Congress to remain united.
Sukhender Reddy said action on certain issues involving party leaders, including the controversy surrounding Konda Surekha, would be beneficial for the party. He also said the government still has more to do for Telangana movement activists. On governance, he suggested that welfare schemes should reach only eligible beneficiaries and that officials need to change their approach to improve the government’s image among the public. He said the government can strongly face the opposition and return to power only through collective efforts, adding that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, being young and energetic, should be allowed to work freely without unnecessary obstacles.
