A massive fire broke out near the Inner Ring Road area in Guntur city on Thursday, causing panic among locals. Underground Drainage (UGD) pipes stored in an open plot belonging to a contractor suddenly caught fire, and the plastic material led to rapid spreading of flames across the area. Thick black smoke spread for kilometers, affecting visibility and causing breathing difficulties for commuters and residents.
Firefighters rushed to the spot with fire engines and have been continuously battling the blaze for over an hour. Despite constant water spraying, the fire and smoke intensity remains high due to the large quantity of stored pipes. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, while police and fire officials are monitoring the situation closely.
