

Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has called upon the paper industry to adopt modern technology, recycling and environmentally sustainable practices while balancing industrial growth with social responsibility. He was speaking at the 65th Annual General Meeting and national conference of the Federation of Paper Traders’ Associations (FPTA), organised in collaboration with the Telangana Paper Merchants’ Association at Novotel HICC in Hyderabad. The three-day conference, being held from October 3 to 5, has brought together more than 1,000 paper traders, manufacturers and industry representatives from across India.
The Governor said paper plays an important role in education, literacy, publishing, printing, packaging and the dissemination of information. He urged industry stakeholders to focus on recycling, energy efficiency, resource conservation and sustainable production, while embracing digitalisation and efficient supply chains. He also stressed the importance of using the skills and innovative ideas of young people to strengthen the sector and encouraged businesses to contribute to education, healthcare, skill development and social welfare alongside their economic objectives.
