

The Governor of Karnataka, Thawar Chand Gehlot, has accepted the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Siddaramaiah had submitted his resignation on Thursday evening, meeting the Governor’s secretary Prabhushankar as the Governor was in Madhya Pradesh at the time. After returning to Bengaluru, the Governor formally approved the resignation on Friday morning. Siddaramaiah will continue as caretaker Chief Minister until a new leader is appointed.

Following his resignation, Siddaramaiah traveled to Delhi along with senior Congress leaders. He is expected to hold discussions with the party high command regarding the selection of the next Chief Minister and the formation of the new cabinet in Karnataka. The political developments have sparked significant interest over the state’s leadership transition.
