Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has strongly criticized the Telangana government for failing to provide basic infrastructure in Hyderabad’s slum areas. He alleged that, like the previous BRS regime, the current Congress government is focusing only on the development of Hitech City while neglecting the needs of poor and middle-class communities. During his padyatra in Amberpet constituency, accompanied by officials, BJP leaders, and locals, he interacted with residents and highlighted pressing civic issues.
Kishan Reddy pointed out severe drinking water shortages, non-functional streetlights, and damaged roads in many areas. He accused successive governments of misleading people with unfulfilled promises such as double-bedroom housing, financial assistance schemes, and welfare benefits. He also expressed concern over climate change impacting rainfall and warned of worsening water scarcity. Criticizing the state government and GHMC, he alleged negligence in drainage, sanitation, and urban planning, urging immediate action to address Hyderabad’s growing infrastructure challenges.
