Government Land Encroachment Alleged in Jadcherla

Government land in and around the rapidly developing Jadcherla region has allegedly come under encroachment. A real estate businessman is accused of occupying nearly 25 acres of government land spread across two survey numbers at Macharam, close to National Highway-44. The property is reportedly worth more than ₹50 crore. The alleged encroacher is said to have planted fruit-bearing trees on the land and erected fencing around it. The issue reportedly came to light when officials examined government land for public requirements.

The businessman allegedly has a real estate venture adjacent to the disputed property and is accused of using loopholes in land records to claim the government land. Documents reportedly show a purchase in his wife’s name, while the revenue records do not list the property as agricultural land or record their names. The allegations have also raised questions over claims of similar land transactions in the Jadcherla area and the delay in official action despite complaints. There are further allegations of encroachment and disputed sales involving government land near Shankarayapally Thanda, Kaverammapet and Macharam, as well as land along NH-167 near the Jadcherla Housing Board Colony. Authorities are facing criticism over the alleged delay in reclaiming government land and preventing disputed properties from changing hands.
