

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has announced good news for medical aspirants in Telangana. The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) has released the official seat matrix for undergraduate medical courses for the 2026-27 academic year. With this, Telangana has received 810 additional MBBS seats, increasing the total number of MBBS seats in the state from 9,440 to 10,250.
The state currently has 66 medical colleges. Government medical colleges received 110 additional seats, taking the total government sector seats to 4,410, while private medical colleges received 700 new seats, increasing the private sector total to 5,850. Across India, NMC has increased 9,911 MBBS seats, taking the national total to 1,36,939 seats. The NMC also directed colleges and counselling authorities to follow approved seat limits strictly.
