A tragic fire at a residential building in Bochum, Germany, has claimed the lives of three Indian nationals and left five others injured. According to local media reports, the deceased include two women aged 25 and 27 and a 26-year-old man. Firefighters responding to the incident reportedly discovered the bodies inside an apartment on the building's second floor. Five other people suffered from smoke inhalation and were taken to hospitals in Bochum for treatment. Their nationalities have not been disclosed.
Police have arrested a 41-year-old Romanian national who reportedly lived in the same building, on suspicion of murder. Investigators are examining whether the fire was deliberately started or resulted from an accident. Preliminary findings reportedly indicate that a technical fault may not explain the incident, prompting authorities to investigate the possibility of arson. However, the exact cause of the fire and the arrested man's alleged involvement have not yet been established. The investigation is ongoing.
