The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued notices to several popular energy drink manufacturers over alleged misleading branding and promotional claims. Companies associated with brands such as Red Bull, Sting, Hell Energy, Campa Energy, Gold Boost, Adrenaline Rush, Monster Energy, and others have been asked to explain claims that their products improve energy, focus, and mental alertness.
FSSAI clarified that it has not approved any separate category or standards for "energy drinks" in India. The authority stated that it has received multiple consumer complaints and warned companies against using misleading labels and advertisements. It also cautioned that strict action will be taken if the notices are ignored or violations continue.
