The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has reported quality and safety concerns involving products from three companies. According to the regulator, a full-cream milk sample collected from a Dodla Dairy plant failed to meet prescribed standards. The initial food analysis classified the sample as substandard. After the company appealed, the sample was sent to a referral food laboratory for further testing. The subsequent report reportedly detected detergent or caustic soda and found milk fat levels below the prescribed limit, concluding that the sample was unsuitable for consumption.
The FSSAI has also taken action concerning Priyagold biscuits manufactured by Surya Food and Agro. Following a consumer complaint, an expert team inspected the manufacturing facility and reportedly found bran intended for cattle feed being used in biscuit production. The sacks were marked for animal feed, and the material was considered unsuitable for human consumption. The company’s licence had previously been suspended, and prosecution proceedings have now been initiated. Separately, the regulator has begun legal action against UEIR Organic Foods after pesticide residues were reportedly detected in its yellow raisins. These findings highlight the importance of food-quality testing, regulatory inspections and compliance with food-safety standards. Consumers should refer to official FSSAI updates for further details about the cases and any additional action.
