France is witnessing protests over several issues, including infrastructure shortcomings and rising prices, prompting the Indian Embassy in Paris to issue a safety advisory for Indian nationals. The embassy urged Indians living in France, as well as those planning to travel there, to remain vigilant amid the unrest and local curfews. It advised people to avoid protest sites and crowded areas, monitor official advisories issued by local authorities, and check the latest transport updates before travelling. The embassy also shared links to relevant websites to help people access essential information.
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron strongly criticised remarks made by US President Donald Trump about the protests in France. Macron accused foreign leaders of making such statements for political gain. His response followed Trump’s comments suggesting that the French government’s immigration policies were responsible for violent incidents in the country. Macron dismissed the remarks as unacceptable, intensifying the verbal exchange between the two leaders amid the ongoing unrest.
