Former Minister Seediri Appalaraju Arrested in Alleged Conspiracy Linked to Fatal Road Accident Case

Former Andhra Pradesh minister and YSRCP leader Seediri Appalaraju was arrested by police at his residence in Kasibugga, Srikakulam district, in connection with an alleged conspiracy linked to a fatal road accident. According to the investigation, Appalaraju is accused of attempting to shield his son, who allegedly caused the death of a man in a two-wheeler accident, by framing another youth. Police have named the former minister as Accused No. 3 in the case. His arrest witnessed high drama as supporters gathered outside his residence and attempted to stop police from taking him into custody, leading to a brief scuffle.

Police deployed heavy security before arresting Appalaraju and later shifted him to Kasibugga Police Station amid tight security. During the operation, YSRCP workers blocked the police vehicle, causing traffic disruptions in the area. Speaking before being taken away, Appalaraju alleged that the coalition government was filing false cases against opposition leaders and stated that he was not afraid of police action. Meanwhile, the court dismissed the regular and interim bail petitions of his son, Aarav Varma, while the hearing on Appalaraju's anticipatory bail plea has been adjourned.
