Food Safety Crackdown on Hyderabad Restaurants

The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) has taken action against several restaurants and food establishments in Hyderabad after inspections found serious food safety and hygiene violations. Eight enforcement teams inspected 15 establishments across the city’s core urban region and collected 16 food samples for suspected adulteration. FSSAI licences of eight establishments were suspended, with immediate closure orders issued.

Officials reported cockroach and rodent infestations, spoiled vegetables, expired food products, unhygienic kitchens, poor storage practices and other violations at several establishments. The restaurants facing licence suspension include Aroma Multicuisine Restaurant in Gachibowli, Aditya Restaurant and Bar in Safilguda, Vaishnavi Darshini in Begum Bazar, Spicy Hub in Kothapet, Pakwan Grand in Raidurg, Godavari Ghumaghumalu in Hafeezpet, Sri Krishna Family Dhaba Pure Veg in Gopanpally and Sri Sai Mess Branch in Kondapur. Lucky Restaurant in Pragathi Nagar was also ordered to shut for operating without an FSSAI licence and amid severe hygiene concerns.
