Flash floods have struck Nepal once again, causing severe damage in the Gorkha district. The Budhi Gandaki River surged suddenly, sweeping away the Salleri Bazaar area. The unexpected rise in water levels has raised concerns among residents living along the riverbanks, while authorities are assessing the extent of the destruction.
Landslides are suspected to have blocked the river before the water surged downstream, carrying debris and damaging nearby settlements and infrastructure. The affected region has suffered extensive damage, and authorities have urged people living in vulnerable riverside areas to move to safer locations. Rescue operations and damage assessments are underway.
