A major mishap was averted on the Rajdhani Express near Kota Railway Station after a fire broke out due to a suspected short circuit. The train, travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi, saw flames erupt in one coach which quickly spread to another, causing panic among passengers.
The loco pilot immediately stopped the train, and railway staff detached the affected coaches from the rest of the train. Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. No casualties were reported, but overhead electrical lines were damaged, disrupting train services on the route.
