Fire Breaks Out in Vande Bharat Train in Vijayawada

Smoke was noticed from the C4 coach of the Narsapur-Chennai Vande Bharat Express (20678) at Vijayawada railway station on Wednesday, triggering panic among passengers. The train arrived at Vijayawada at around 5 pm when railway staff detected a hot axle in the C4 coach. Railway personnel immediately attended to the coach and alerted the concerned technical and safety teams. Necessary action was taken promptly to bring the situation under control.

Following the incident, railway authorities arranged waiting facilities, drinking water, food and a help desk for passengers. An alternative train was arranged for passengers who wished to continue their journey, while those who did not want to travel further were facilitated with refunds. Railway officials are monitoring the situation and providing the necessary assistance to passengers, authorities said.
