A massive fire broke out at a textile shop in the SVK Complex at Madina Chaurasta in Hyderabad’s Old City, causing panic in the busy commercial area. Thick smoke engulfed the surroundings as the fire spread rapidly due to large stock of clothes inside the shop. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and deployed eight fire engines to control the blaze, while firefighters have been continuously battling the flames for over two hours.
Police reached the location and regulated traffic in the surrounding areas, confirming that no one was inside the shop at the time of the incident, thus avoiding any casualties. Authorities are still assessing the extent of damage and investigating the cause of the fire. Concerns have also been raised over repeated fire accidents in the Old City and the need for strict safety inspections in commercial complexes.
