Popular finance influencer V. Harish, 27, who reportedly had more than 1.3 million followers across Instagram and YouTube, has died by suicide at a rented villa in Chennai. According to the account provided by his family, Harish was found hanging at the property where he was staying. His father has alleged that online harassment by the CEO of a venture studio contributed to his son’s death and has called for a thorough police investigation. Harish operated social media accounts under the name Finance With Harish, where he shared financial information and advice. His father claims that after Jason Samuel, CEO of Zemuria Inc., made allegations against him, Meta suspended Harish’s Instagram account. Harish subsequently began posting videos through a new account, but his father says he was under severe emotional stress.
Responding to the controversy on X, Jason Samuel said he was deeply shocked by Harish’s death and denied engaging in cyber harassment. Samuel claimed that his criticism focused on what he described as misleading information shared with the public. He alleged that Harish did not hold an investment adviser licence recognised by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and questioned the timing of his Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) registration. Samuel said he had urged Harish to return with the appropriate legal credentials and maintained that he had not anticipated such a tragic outcome. The allegations made by both sides require independent verification, and the circumstances surrounding Harish’s death remain a matter for investigation.
