The Forum for Good Governance (FGG) has urged the Telangana government to reconsider its proposed expenditure of ₹1,000 crore for the upcoming Godavari Pushkaralu. Citing the state’s financial condition, the forum said the proposed spending should be reviewed. FGG president Padmanabha Reddy wrote a letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday, requesting a reassessment of the budget.
Padmanabha Reddy pointed out that the number of devotees visiting different locations during the Pushkaralu would vary. He urged the government to prioritise essential facilities such as drinking water, medical services and public toilets instead of allocating large sums to other works. The forum called for the responsible use of public funds, keeping the state’s financial situation in mind.
