Fatal Road Accident Near Chilakaluripet

A tragic road accident occurred near Chilakaluripet in Palnadu district when a private travel bus travelling from Vijayawada to Tirupati collided with an auto-rickshaw. Seven people died in the accident, while 10 others reportedly sustained serious injuries. Police identified the deceased as residents of Veluru village in Chilakaluripet mandal. The auto was completely destroyed in the collision.

Police and local residents immediately reached the spot and launched rescue operations. The seriously injured victims were rushed to Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH) for treatment, with some reportedly in critical condition. Arrangements are being made to shift the bodies for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and are investigating whether speeding, driver negligence or another factor caused the accident.
