Farmers from several villages in Aleru mandal, including Tanguturu, Sharajipeta, Kolluru and Madanapalli, staged a protest at the Sharajipeta electricity substation on Tuesday, demanding an immediate solution to persistent low voltage and power supply issues. BRS leaders said frequent power interruptions and low voltage were causing severe problems for farmers. They alleged that borewell starters were frequently getting damaged, forcing farmers to spend additional money on repairs. Poor power supply was also affecting irrigation, leaving crops at risk of drying up.
Aleru ADE officials reached the substation after learning about the protest and held talks with the farmers and BRS leaders. The officials assured them that the low voltage problem in the villages would be inspected and resolved at the earliest. Following the assurance, the protesters called off their agitation. However, BRS leaders warned that they would launch another protest if the issue was not resolved. Tanguturu Sarpanch Jukanti Anil and other local leaders participated in the protest.
