A video showing a family enjoying a mini feast aboard an IndiGo flight has gone viral on social media. The family was seen eating a variety of snacks, including samosas, dhokla, thepla and namkeen. In the video, a woman takes out disposable plates and serves the food to family members, who then enjoy the snacks together. Some of the girls were also seen applying press-on nails during the journey. After finishing their food, the family collected the used plates and other waste in a large garbage bag, appearing to take care of the cleanup.
The video has triggered mixed reactions online. While some users supported the family and questioned what was wrong with carrying and eating their own food during a flight, others argued that strongly scented food could cause discomfort to fellow passengers in an enclosed aircraft cabin. Some users also said the issue should not be linked to any particular region or community and should instead be viewed in terms of passenger behaviour, hygiene and consideration for others. The viral clip has consequently sparked a wider discussion about carrying outside food on flights, cleanliness and respecting the comfort of fellow passengers.
