Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has reportedly taken serious note of a WhatsApp post claiming that he was resigning from his post. According to reports, he decided to lodge a complaint with the Cyber Crime police over the circulation of the alleged fake news. Following this development, the administrator of the WhatsApp group in which the message was shared issued an apology and clarification. The administrator admitted that the post had been forwarded after seeing it on social media without properly verifying its authenticity.
In the apology, the administrator explained that the message claiming Pawan Kalyan was resigning as Deputy Chief Minister had been shared hastily and without any malicious intention. The administrator said the information was later found to be false and expressed regret after learning that the Deputy Chief Minister’s office had responded to the matter and indicated that action would be taken. The administrator also apologised to Pawan Kalyan, Jana Sena Party leaders, party workers and members of the WhatsApp group, promising to verify information thoroughly before sharing it in the future.
