Former West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee has suffered another setback after senior party leader Chandrima Bhattacharya resigned from her post. In her resignation letter, she announced that she was stepping down from all party positions, citing a lack of trust within the organisation.
Chandrima claimed she was blamed for rebels led by Ritabrata Banerjee taking control of the party headquarters. Soon after resigning, she reportedly met the rebel group outside the West Bengal Assembly. Reacting to the developments, Mamata Banerjee called the rebels "traitors" and asserted that the TMC symbol would remain with her. She also announced that she would personally oversee the party’s affairs at both the state and national levels.
