The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has warned its subscribers against fake websites and phishing links while accessing EPFO services online. The organisation said cybercriminals are creating fake links and websites that closely resemble official platforms to steal users’ sensitive information. Subscribers have been advised not to click suspicious links received through social media, SMS or email.
EPFO has urged subscribers to enter their UAN, PPO, password, Aadhaar, PAN, bank details and OTPs only on its official website. Users should verify the website URL and domain name before logging in and report suspicious messages to the EPFO helpdesk or cyber security authorities. The organisation also clarified that it never asks for OTPs or login credentials through phone calls, WhatsApp, SMS or email.
