Employees' Provident Fund Organisation is set to introduce WhatsApp-based services to simplify access for Provident Fund subscribers across the country. Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that EPFO members will soon be able to access PF-related services directly through WhatsApp. The initiative aims to make services more accessible, considering the massive number of WhatsApp users in India.
Subscribers will be able to check PF balance, last five transactions, and claim status by sending a “Hello” message to the verified EPFO WhatsApp number. The services will be available through the mobile number linked with the UAN account and will support regional languages through automated 24/7 assistance. The minister also revealed that EPFO is preparing to enable PF withdrawals through UPI. The feature has reportedly been tested successfully, and once launched, users will be able to withdraw funds securely using UPI PIN authentication.
