He said the objective is to address irrigation needs in northern Telangana, particularly the Adilabad region, and provide irrigation facilities to around 2.5 lakh acres. In this regard, he said he met Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil along with Minister Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and discussed issues related to the project.
The MP said special attention is being given to issues concerning Maharashtra, required clearances and other technical hurdles linked to the project. He said the Central Water Commission (CWC) would hold a special meeting to address the issues with Maharashtra and facilitate the required approvals at the earliest. He added that the state and central governments would work in coordination to ensure progress of the project and bring irrigation benefits to farmers in northern Telangana.
