The Election Commission of India (ECI) has clarified that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s name appearing in two voter lists under the same EPIC number is only a roll anomaly and should not be interpreted as dual voting eligibility. The Commission stated that having the same EPIC number does not automatically confer voting rights at multiple locations.
According to election officials, the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process is aimed at identifying and removing duplicate, outdated, and incorrect voter entries. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Telangana, Sudarshan Reddy, said corrections will be carried out as per the prescribed rules. Officials also noted that migration and delayed record updates can sometimes result in duplicate registrations. The Chief Minister’s family has requested the continuation of his voter registration in Kodangal while seeking deletion of the Kondareddypalli entry.
