Authorities have intensified health surveillance measures at Gannavaram Airport following the rise in Ebola cases across several African nations. Special screening tests are being conducted for international passengers arriving at the airport, particularly for travelers coming from Congo and Uganda. Officials are closely monitoring passengers’ travel history as part of precautionary measures to prevent any possible spread of the virus.
The enhanced screening process has been implemented based on directives issued by the Central and State governments amid increasing Ebola-related cases and deaths reported in parts of Africa. A flight arriving from Singapore carrying 185 passengers underwent health checks upon arrival. Medical teams at international airports are conducting examinations based on passengers’ recent travel history and symptoms to ensure public safety.
