Ebola, a deadly virus, is currently causing concern across several African countries including Congo, Uganda, and South Africa. The World Health Organization has already declared a global health emergency due to its spread. As a precautionary measure, health alerts have now been issued in India as well, particularly in densely populated cities.
In Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has issued an Ebola advisory to resident doctors in civic hospitals. Although no cases have been reported in India, the advisory aims to ensure preparedness, awareness, and prevention. The civic body has also stressed the importance of preventing misinformation and instructed healthcare workers to remain alert and follow infection control protocols while supporting public health authorities.
