Dubai-based man booked for blackmailing woman in Vijayawada

Vijayawada police have registered a case against a man based in Dubai for allegedly blackmailing and harassing a woman using her private photos and videos. According to police, the accused, identified as Sheikh Subhani, was known to the victim and had earlier taken intimate photos and videos when they were in contact. After the woman got married, he allegedly began harassing her, demanding video calls and threatening to share the content with her relatives and friends if she refused.

He also reportedly sent her obscene images to her husband, who later blocked the number. However, the accused continued to harass her using multiple international numbers. He allegedly created a WhatsApp group and threatened to circulate her private content unless she paid money and gave gold. Police said investigation revealed that the accused is currently in Dubai, while his wife and mother reside in Singarayakonda of Prakasam district. Cybercrime police have registered a case and are investigating.
