Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India successfully managed the fuel crisis arising from West Asia tensions. He credited government policies, diversification of fuel imports, and strong bilateral relations for helping the country overcome the crisis with minimal burden. He inaugurated India’s first greenfield refinery and petrochemical complex in Pachpadra, Rajasthan.
He noted that India expanded its crude import sources from 25–26 countries to over 40 during the crisis. Despite heavy losses due to rising global oil prices, the government absorbed the burden and reduced excise duty to protect citizens. He said critics who predicted India’s failure have been proven wrong as the country continues to grow stronger.
