Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth has been conferred the honorary rank of General of the Nepali Army. Nepal President Ram Chandra Paudel presented the honour to General Seth at a special ceremony held at Shital Niwas, the President's official residence in Kathmandu, on Monday. The honour reflects the longstanding and close military ties between India and Nepal. General Seth assumed charge as India's 31st Chief of the Army Staff on June 30, 2026.
At the invitation of Nepal Army Chief General Ashok Raj Sigdel, General Seth is on an official visit to Nepal from August 17 to 19. The visit is aimed at strengthening defence cooperation and further deepening military-to-military ties between the two countries.
