Shiva temples across the Telugu states witnessed a massive influx of devotees as Masa Shivaratri coincided with the auspicious Ardra Nakshatra. From the early hours of Monday, thousands of devotees flocked to major temples to offer special prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.
At the renowned Jyotirlinga shrine of Srisailam, devotees took holy dips in the Patala Ganga before having darshan of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bhramaramba. Owing to the heavy footfall, temple authorities temporarily suspended VIP break darshans to facilitate smooth access for general devotees. A similar rush was witnessed at the Vemulawada Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple, where officials made elaborate arrangements to ensure a hassle-free darshan for pilgrims.
