Deputy CM Lays Foundation for Dharmapuri Temple Expansion

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction and development works at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Dharmapuri in the early hours of Monday. The foundation ceremony for the Sri Ugra Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple reconstruction, taken up at a cost of ₹10 crore, was performed at 2:58 am at an auspicious time fixed by Vedic scholars. They also offered special prayers at the Sri Ugra Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and Sri Yogananda Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temples.

The Deputy CM said the government had already sanctioned ₹117 crore for the development of the Dharmapuri temple and had approved an additional ₹80 crore following a request from Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar and local representatives. With the total estimated cost reaching ₹200 crore, the government aims to transform Dharmapuri into an international-standard pilgrimage centre. The foundation stones were also laid for infrastructure and temple development works worth ₹58.55 crore, new Godavari Pushkaralu ghats costing ₹22.16 crore and a new power substation at Thimmapur in Dharmapuri mandal at a cost of ₹2.48 crore.
