

Security has been intensified across Delhi ahead of the Independence Day celebrations. A multi-layered security arrangement has been put in place around the Red Fort, where the main national ceremony will be held. Delhi Police have stepped up checking and surveillance across the capital, with increased deployment of security personnel at key locations. Special attention is being given to suspicious individuals, vehicles and activities in sensitive areas.
Around 1,000 CCTV cameras are being used to maintain surveillance around the Red Fort and its surrounding areas. Security agencies are closely monitoring entry points, sensitive locations and crowded areas to prevent any untoward incident. Security forces have also increased surveillance in Jammu and Kashmir, keeping a close watch on suspicious movements and activities as part of heightened security measures ahead of Independence Day.
