

A major building collapse was reported in Delhi’s Satya Niketan area on Sunday afternoon, triggering an urgent search-and-rescue operation. The collapsed structure was being used as a paying guest accommodation, and several students are feared to be trapped beneath the rubble. Eyewitnesses said around 50 students may have been inside the building at the time of the incident, though the exact number of people trapped has not yet been officially confirmed. The Delhi Fire Service received the alert around 1:30 pm and immediately rushed teams to the spot.
Firefighters, Delhi Police and disaster-response teams are working together to locate and rescue those trapped under the debris. At least two students have been rescued so far and taken for medical assistance, according to reports from the scene. Rescue teams are carefully clearing the rubble while continuing to search for survivors. Authorities are yet to establish the exact cause of the collapse, and further details are expected as the rescue operation progresses.
