The Delhi High Court has issued a key order in a case concerning commercial flight operations at the old Visakhapatnam Airport. The court dismissed a petition challenging the suspension of commercial flights and directed the petitioner to approach the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The bench observed that the primary cause of action and relevant circumstances are located in Andhra Pradesh.
During the hearing, the petitioner argued that passengers were facing difficulties because of the new airport and its distance from Visakhapatnam city. The petitioner also highlighted connectivity concerns and alleged that public funds worth thousands of crores were being wasted. However, the Delhi High Court held that the affected parties and the main issue are based in Visakhapatnam, making the Andhra Pradesh High Court the appropriate forum.
