The Delhi High Court has issued a criminal contempt of court notice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leaders Sanjay Singh, Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and others for allegedly making defamatory and vilifying remarks against Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma. The court has taken serious note of the statements and initiated contempt proceedings.
The bench also decided to appoint an amicus curiae to assist in the case. The matter is scheduled to be heard next on August 4. The development marks a significant legal escalation involving senior political leaders and the judiciary over alleged public comments on judicial conduct.
