TDP working president and Minister Nara Lokesh has announced that some leaders and party workers who have demonstrated dedication to the party will be selected directly for nominated posts without requiring recommendations. He said performance in six major programmes organised by the party ahead of the 2024 elections would be considered for the selection. Those who delivered outstanding performances and received awards in all six programmes would be given the first preference, followed by those who secured awards in five and four programmes. Speaking to reporters at the Chief Minister’s camp office in Undavalli on Tuesday, Lokesh said around 150 people had been shortlisted for state- and district-level nominated posts. He added that TDP chief and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had already approved the proposal.
Lokesh said the TDP had always given priority to its workers and had spent around ₹200 crore on their welfare so far. He said MLAs had been instructed to remain accessible to party workers and maintain regular communication with them, while those who failed to follow the direction were being warned. He said the alliance parties were working in coordination and would resolve minor differences through mutual adjustment. The party was also focusing on establishing offices in all districts and would eventually build offices at the constituency level. Lokesh said meetings being conducted by him and the Chief Minister with party workers would be completed across all 175 constituencies by December, after which the second round of meetings would begin.
