Death Threats to Sourav Ganguly and Wife Dona

Former India captain and Cricket Association of Bengal president Sourav Ganguly and his wife, Dona Ganguly, have reportedly received multiple threatening letters over the past six months. Although the earlier letters were not initially taken seriously, two letters received at Ganguly’s office on Monday allegedly contained explicit death threats against the couple. Following the latest threats, a police complaint was filed and the matter has been taken up for investigation.

Based on a complaint filed by Ganguly’s manager, Kolkata Police registered a case at Thakurpukur Police Station in south Kolkata. The letters are believed to have been delivered through a courier service. Investigators are examining the courier trail and trying to establish the identity of the sender. Police are also looking into the mobile number and SIM card associated with the communications to determine whether all the threatening letters were sent by the same person and what may have motivated the threats.
