A 33-year-old private company employee from Chandapura was allegedly robbed after meeting a woman he had befriended on a dating app. The victim had been using the app for the past few months and was invited to meet by a woman who introduced herself as Poonam. He travelled to Electronic City to meet her, following which she suggested that they go to a pub in Hulimangala. She asked him to use his car, and after stopping to refuel, they continued towards the destination. After travelling some distance, the woman allegedly stopped the car at a deserted location. Four unidentified men then arrived and entered the vehicle.
The suspects allegedly threatened the victim and forced him to transfer money from his phone. They reportedly took his ATM card, obtained the PIN and withdrew cash. The accused also allegedly changed the PIN of his credit card and forced him to transfer ₹3.2 lakh to another account. They eventually dropped the victim near a metro station and fled. Based on his complaint, Hebbagodi police have registered a case and launched an investigation to identify and trace the suspects.
