Cyberabad traffic police conducted extensive weekend drunk and drive checks under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits, officials said. As part of the drive, 294 cases were booked against offenders, including two-wheeler, auto, and car drivers.
Based on Blood Alcohol Concentration levels, most offenders were categorized between different ranges, with strict legal action to follow. Police reiterated that drunk driving is a serious offence and warned that offenders causing accidents may face charges under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, with punishment including up to 10 years of imprisonment.
