Cyberabad Police Launch Student Portal to Strengthen Safe Student Transportation

Cyberabad Police has taken a major step towards ensuring safe and organised transportation for students by organising a Campus Compliance Workshop under the Student Mobility Programme (SMP) at the Engineering Staff College in Gachibowli. On the occasion, officials launched a dedicated Student Portal that digitally connects educational institutions with various government departments. Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr. M. Ramesh said student safety is a shared responsibility and emphasised the need to ensure secure travel for students from their homes to educational institutions and back. He described the Student Mobility Programme as a comprehensive safety initiative rather than just a traffic management exercise.

The programme was developed after conducting a detailed survey of over 520 educational institutions, consultations with representatives from more than 750 institutions and a successful pilot project involving over 500 students. During the workshop, officials discussed safe student mobility corridors, traffic regulation around educational institutions, implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordination among schools, parents, transport operators, police, transport authorities, the Education Department and TGSRTC. The newly launched Student Portal will facilitate better communication, issue resolution, monitoring and coordination, with the objective of making Cyberabad a model for safe student mobility in India.
