Custodial Death Case: Plea Seeks DGP as Accused

The Sai Krishna custodial death case has taken a fresh legal turn with a private petition filed before the Second Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in Vijayawada. The petition seeks to name Andhra Pradesh DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, Vijayawada Police Commissioner S.V. Rajasekhar Babu, and South Zone ACP M. Manasa as accused, alleging their accountability in the case.

The petition was filed on behalf of Tirupati YSRCP MP Maddila Gurumoorthy, while former Additional Advocate General Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy is expected to argue the matter before the court. The petitioner has requested that the DGP be listed as Accused No. 1, the Police Commissioner as Accused No. 2, and ACP Manasa as Accused No. 3. The court's decision on the plea is expected to play a crucial role in determining the next phase of the investigation.
