Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao held a review meeting at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat with senior officials of concerned departments on proposed high-speed rail corridor projects centered around Hyderabad. He directed officials to prepare proposals in coordination with the Telangana government and the Ministry of Railways, ensuring inter-departmental cooperation in project reports and execution. He also emphasized timely action on land acquisition, connectivity, and infrastructure development.
Officials informed that the DPR for the Hyderabad–Pune–Mumbai high-speed rail corridor has already been prepared, covering a 671 km route, with 93 km of land acquisition required in Telangana. Additional land acquisition of around 123 km is needed for the Hyderabad–Bengaluru and Hyderabad–Chennai corridors, including depot requirements at Kokapet and Shamshabad. The CS instructed Roads & Buildings, HMDA, and GMR Airport authorities to coordinate with railway officials to ensure smooth implementation, stating that the project will transform Telangana into a major economic growth corridor under “Rising Telangana 2047.”
